Book Signing With Funland Co-Founder Al Fasnacht

Al Fasnacht, the senior member of the Fasnacht family that has owned and operated Funland on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk since 1962, will be signing copies of the new book "Land of Fun: The Story of an Old-Fashioned Amusement Park for the Ages," at Funland on Sunday, August 18 from 4 to 6 pm.

The signing will take place inside Funland, right beside the Boats. Copies of the book, a history of the amusement park that was published in May and that has been featured in the Washington Post and USA Today, will be available for purchase for $20.

Land of Fun is the best-selling book this summer at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach, as Funland fans of all ages are reading the book, often from cover-to-cover in one sitting.

“The book was the perfect mix of the history of Funland and personal accounts from the many people connected to Funland in one way or another. I couldn’t put it down,” said Kristine Loeffler of Randolph, NJ, whose first trip to Funland was at 2 months of age. “The book brought back so many memories of my growing up, and now I get to watch my own kids enjoy the same rides, games and family-friendly atmosphere. As he did at two previous and well attended book signings this summer, Al will provide a personalized inscription, talk with you about the park, take pictures with your family and thank you for your interest in Funland. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Funland fans, some who traveled as far as 9 hours for an earlier signing and to talk with Funland’s co-founder.
